New Car: 2010 Audi TT Clubsport

This is our first look at the Audi Clubsport Quattro, which will go into production later this year powered by a 300bhp version of the firm’s 2.0-litre TFSI turbocharged petrol engine.

The car was unveiled today at the Lake Worther Tour, an annual gathering of VW and Audi enthusiasts held in Austria. The Clubsport Quattro is a near-production version of the Clubsport Speedster concept shown at last year’s Essen Motor Show.

The Clubsport Quattro does away with a roof, and replaces the windscreen with low-level speedster style glass and unusual sloping side windows. The body is 60mm wider than that of the standard TT to cover the wider front and rear tracks.

The TFSI engine drives all four wheels via Audi’s new seven-speed S-tronic dual clutch gearbox, which can be operated in both automatic and manual modes with paddles behind the steering wheel.

The unusual 19-inch turbine-blade design wheels are covered by 255/35 tyres, and behind them is the uprated braking system from the recently-launched TTS.

Inside the Audi Clubsport Quattro gets aluminium pedals, instrument bezels and door handles, wraparound race-style seats and tan leather trim.

Details of pricing – and the exact markets the Clubsport will be offered in – will be revealed later. (Thanks to Autocar for News and Pictures).
