How to fix car overheating:
- Shut off the engine and open the hood, let as much heat escape as possible. Turn your ignition on so your heating system works. Turn on the heat and the blower at full blast for a few minutes in order to subtract more heat from the engine system.
- Then, check the engine coolant level in the radiator tank. Open cap and fill tank with engine coolant, if that level is low.
- Sfter it cooled off, start the engine in order to let the coolant or water circulate into the radiator system.
- Keep the engine running in "neutral". Fill more coolant or water into the tank until the level reaches the mark "hot".
- Last, close cap and watch the temperature gauge for a few minutes while the engine idles. You can safely drive on, if the engine does not overheat again.

Car overheating can be caused of simple problem like long uphill grades in extreme climate conditions, particularly if they are towing trailers. Have an additional oil and an additional water cooler installed to prevent car overheating.

- First, have time to inspect the car yourself, and money for any parts you may need. Also have oil, oil filter, and air filter.
- Change your oil and oil filter. Make sure that you are either using a synthetic blend or fully synthetic oil.
- Change your air filter so that your engine will work easier and give you cleaner ignitions in the pistons.
- Check your tires for too much wear, and for heavy signs of cracking. Replace them, if they are bad!
- Check your headlights, stop lights, tail lights, and high beams. Also check your blinkers, reverse lights, and license plate light. Be sure to replace it if any light is out!
- Check your windshield wipers and make sure they are good. Turn them on and make sure that they both work.
- You can most likely turn it off with an OBD II scanner if your check engine light is on. Remember that, a state inspection can fail due to a bad or faulty code being set off. Be sure to check all work well.

- Check for blown fuses and the wiring. Fix and resolve the underlying problem!
- Measure the temperature of the air in the car. The system has moisture in it and is freezing up, Ii the air conditioner blows cold air for just a little bit.
- Last, listen for excessive noise. It's usually the compressor, but it could also be a hose or belt that needs replacement.
